Why do farms need hoof trimming machines?
1. Trimming the hooves of goats by hand requires a considerable amount of time, and for a farm with hundreds of sheep, this process is quite lengthy.
2. When trimming the hooves of sheep/goats manually, they may exhibit stress responses due to fear, which can affect feeding, milk production, and weight gain.
3. When using this device, an individual can easily complete hoof trimming, saving labor and time.
4. Avoid injuring the legs of sheep/goats or the hands of individuals due to the struggles of sheep/goats during the hoof trimming process.
How to use this hoof trimmer?
1. Open the entrance door, let the Sheep/Goat walk into theequipment, then close the entrance.
2. With both sides of the boards clamping the sheep/goat. According to different sheep/goat, use Clamping Boards Adjusting Rod and Goat Plate Adjusting Rod to adjust into suitable place to make goat/sheep comfortable.
3. Rotate the equipment 180 degrees, locating pin will be automatically positioned, Sheep/Goat Hoof is upward.
4. Open the bottom plate, take the Sheep/Goathoof out to do trimming.
5. After finish trimming hoof job, cover the bottom plate, it will be automatically locked.
6. Lift up the locating pin, the equipment will be automatically rotated 180 degrees.
7. Open the exitdoor to let the Sheep/Goat walk out the equipment.
8. Close the exitdoor, trimming hoof job is done.
Methods to improve hoof trimming efficiency.
1. Before trimming: first soften the hooves.
Soaking the sheep's hooves in water or a 2% copper sulfate solution can be used to soften them, or trimming can be done after it rains. Trimmed hooves will be more convenient to work with.
2. When trimming, first clean the dirt and rotten parts from the sheep/goat's hooves. Start with trimming the edges, followed by internal trimming, shaping the sheep's hooves into an oval with the sides slightly higher than the center. Additionally, ensure that the height of both hooves is the same to avoid a disparity in height.
3. Important notes: if capillaries are seen while trimming, you must stop. If an accidental cut leads to bleeding, electrocautery can be used to stop the bleeding or potassium permanganate for disinfection. For severely deformed or rotten hooves, repeated trimming should be performed.
